Don’t let the the video below fool you, Contra is one of the hardest games on the NES. The key to this game, besides using the Konami Code, is getting the Spread Shot Power Up. It makes things that much easier, especially during boss fights.
Contra was also one of the first games you can play in “3D”. I know it looks like crap now, but back in the day, it was mind blowing stuff. Goddamn you kids are spoiled! You realize you couldn’t(on most NES titles) save games! Either you finish the game in one setting, or you leave the console on until you are ready.
